 SUMMIT CYCLING

http://summitcyclingclub.com/

The Summit Saturday morning ride is our premier weekly, year-around club training ride using a double paceline structure for EXPERIENCED riders.  We reserve the right to request that you do not ride with us for any reason.

The ride leaves from the parking lot at PJ Whelihan’s Pub at 1854 Marlton Pike East (Route 70 and Greentree Rd), Cherry Hill, NJ.

Wheels out at 8:00 A.M. in the summer and 8:30 A.M. in the winter.  The 8:00 spring/summer schedule begins on Saturday, April 4th, 2015 and ends on November 1st, 2015.  We roll from P.J.’s at 8:30 on November 8th, 2015.

Use good judgment regarding inclement weather.  Cancellations are not posted. This ride is open to Summit members, experienced guests and experienced riders from other racing teams.

New riders are asked to introduce themselves to a club member prior to the ride and communicate with the groupif they need help or are unfamiliar with the route.  Failure to do so may result in asking you not to ride with the club. A signed waiver is required from all non-club members. Helmets are required on all rides. Group ride etiquette is a must, bicycles are considered vehicles, just like cars and are required to obey the same traffic laws.  Disobeying rules places you and your fellow riders in danger.

Good ride manners are expected, your actions affect those around you, stay focused, hold your line, avoid darting, crossing wheels, crossing the yellow line; and, don’t look back during sprints which even causes experienced riders to swerve and possibly crash.  Avoid hard, abrupt braking, if must brake, do so lightly to scrub off a little speed. Be Considerate When You Spit!

This is a friendly but competitive club ride and we are cranky about practicing good bunch ride etiquette and maintaining the paceline structure of our ride. Riders are expected to be experienced and comfortable in single and double pace-lines, riding in fast groups, holding their line, possess good bike handling skills and being capable of changing a flat and otherwise taking care of oneself on a ride.  The club will stop to assist riders with flats and mechanicals and will try to watch out for new riders but does not ride ‘sweep’.
